Bitdefender – Lightweight scanning with an excellent VPN is what Bitdefender is best at

Bitdefender was my favorite antivirus in 2022.

Bitdefender was able to deliver flawless results against all malware samples and types. Bitdefender’s cloud-based malware engine found all possible malware samples. It didn’t slow down my computer even though I did full system scans.

Bitdefender offers both web protection and high end malware protections. Bitdefender is also more secure than any other brand. The extras work exactly like promised. They are easy and simple to use.

Bitdefender provides many wonderful features. My PC’s performance was greatly increased by system optimization tools. Bitdefender VPN performs well and speeds up. Bitdefender VPN speeds up and performs well. McAfee is not the only competitor offering protection for mobile devices. Avira and Avira are also competitors.

Bitdefender’s password management can be frustrating to some users. The password manager is good at creating secure passwords as well as autosaving and filling logins. However it lacks key features such two-factor authentication and password security audit. Bitdefender’s VPN offers a limited 200MB data allowance per month. This allows it to monitor email for potential security breaches, and provides a limited VPN. Bitdefender’s Premium security plan allows unlimited data, which is just enough to browse the web. It is also available as an add on.

Bitdefender’s Unlimited VPN plan is the most costly, but Bitdefender still offers great value. Bitdefender is still significantly less expensive than many brands offering fewer functions.

Scan for Virus/Vulnerability

Bitdefender’s anti-malware scanner is both light and thorough. Bitdefender scans the internet for malware.

• Custom scan. Scanning at any point on the system where there is a possibility of vulnerability.

Bitdefender’s virus scan was successfully tested by hiding more malware samples inside my virtual Windows machine. These included trojans and viruses. Trojans, spyware, rootkits. ransomware. cryptojackers. Keyloggers. After my system was infected, a scan was performed.

Bitdefender did a full system scan within one hour. This compares with Avira and Norton’s scans which can take up to 45 minutes.

Bitdefender has no negative effect on the system performance, unlike other competitors. When you scan your system full, premium antiviruses like TotalAV may slow it down.

Bitdefender users have the ability to schedule scans. Bitdefender users can also schedule scans.

Bitdefender is a high-rated malware scanner. Bitdefender quickly detects malware and can be used to protect your computer.

Bitdefender Shield is Bitdefender’s real-time protection. Bitdefender Shield automatically scans any file or email attachment you open.

Bitdefender includes a simple notification screen. Bitdefender provides a simple notification screen. Norton antivirus does require that you use advanced settings and protocols.

Bitdefender Web Protection prevents you from accessing any website that contains downloadable malware. Bitdefender also scans encrypted websites for malware and searches.

Bitdefender saved 1.3GB of my computer’s total. It is truly amazing.

Bitdefender’s tuneup tool has some irritating limitations.

Bitdefender requested that, before clicking “Optimize”, Bitdefender review the issues it had flagged. Because I wanted to know where my file location was, and not what I was deleting,

Bitdefeder’s system tuneup tool could be enhanced with more features TotalAV’s system optimization includes a startup manage and an application uninstaller.

Bitdefender was able to speed up my computer.

Secure Web Browser (SafePay).

Bitdefender’s secure Browser, SafePay by Bitdefender is an excellent way to protect your personal data against being stolen when you do online transactions.

These main benefits of SafePay are highlighted.

• Protects your computer from hackers.
• This prevents others from taking screen grabs.
• Bitdefender’s password manager protects your passwords.
• Uses virtual keyboards to hide keystroke tracking.
• Turns On Built-In VPN Protection (200 MB daily limit).

SafePay was exactly what I wanted. However, I couldn’t capture any screenshots due its built in snapshot-blocker. This is great as intrusive hackers may also be able screen-capture the browser.

SafePay was successfully verified using my PayPal account. It was impossible to paste or copy my 2FA codes. This keeps keyloggers out of my passwords and personal data.

SafePay didn’t work for my needs. SafePay didn’t allow me to stream HD video. I also noticed pages loading slowly. SafePay cannot replace your current browser.

SafePay adds great value to Bitdefender’s already impressive web protection toolkit.

Password Manager

Bitdefender offers a simple and secure password administrator. However, it doesn’t offer as many functions as 1Password. This password manager does offer essential functions such as

• Multi-device sync.
• Unlimited password storage.
• Autosave/autofill.
• Separate password vaults.
• Password generator.

When Bitdefender’s Password Manager is first installed, you will be able to create a password repository by following these steps.

1. Name the wallet and pick a master password. You can also input a master secret hint password.
2. Choose which devices you want to sync your Passwords.
3. It is possible to select which web browsers your passwords should be imported from.

There are no limits to how many wallets you can make. This applies only to users who share the same computer. This makes it possible for you to create different password vaults within one Bitdefender account.

Bitdefender’s digital wallet makes it easy to save passwords (personal information, addresses and phone numbers), credit cards and bank accounts, as well as license keys and logins for software.

Bitdefender’s browser Extension allows you to automatically save or fill passwords. However, you can disable autosave from certain sites.

LastPass is a password manager. LastPass will ask if you would like to save your login credentials. You couldn’t disable autofill for certain sites. Only the best standalone password management software allows you to disable autofill. This is particularly important for banks. Bitdefender provides its own browser, which makes online banking safe.

Bitdefender also provides a powerful password generator. Bitdefender has a great password generator. You can change the settings to include only one of these options. Additionally, you can allow special characters to create passwords that are easy to remember.

Bitdefender’s password managers are convenient, but not as powerful or as standalone password management software like LastPass and 1Password. Keeper has a greater range of features than standalone password management tools such as LastPass and 1Password.

Bitdefender VPN

Bitdefender’s plans include a free VPN. However, the VPN is very limited. The VPN offers 200MB of free browsing per day, not enough to stream a YouTube clip.

Bitdefender Premium Security Plan and an additional VPN subscription allow users unlimited browsing data. Bitdefender premium VPN offers the fastest speeds available on the market. It is faster than any standalone competitor.

It’s clear to see that there weren’t any significant differences in internet speeds. This is especially true if you compare it with VPNs such as Panda that can drastically reduce your download speeds and send PING skyrocketing.

Bitdefender is, however, great for torrenting. Bitdefender has the ability to configure Bitdefender’s VPN so that it connects automatically when you start peer sharing apps. This contrasts with Norton’s policy which does not allow you to activate Bitdefender’s VPN if there is a torrenting client on your machine.

Bitdefender’s premiumVPN has a lot of great features. Bitdefender is a reliable VPN that offers high-speed connections and encrypted browsing. This will allow you to increase your internet safety.

Control

Bitdefender’s parental app is available separately for Windows and macOS.

I tested Bitdefender’s parental controls apps on both my Android phone and Windows PC. The process was quick and only required me to grant permissions to the app.

The next step was to make parental settings changes. Bitdefender Central enabled me to:

• Restrictions on iOS devices for daily use
• Set device usage schedules.
• Manage (allow/block) apps.
• It is possible to whitelist or blacklist particular sites and sites.
• You can view your location and determine if you are within a safe zone (available only to iOS and Android).
• Get the most recent additions for your phone’s contacts (only on Android and iOS).

After setting the settings, I tested the app with a friend. Bitdefender’s parental controls software stopped my friend accessing websites from the blacklisted categories. BullGuard has many filter options but does not filter all content. Bitdefender website filtering, however, is not able to allow children to request access via the app.

Bitdefender’s parental program worked perfectly. The Bitdefender parental app worked flawlessly. I could see how much time my friend spent on her phone, track her location, and see what apps she used. This feature is not found in many antiviruses.

Bitdefender has geo-fencing that allows you to be notified if your child leaves an area designated as safe.

Bitdefender’s accuracy at tracking the location of my friend impressed me also. Bitdefender found his exact house within a radius of 20 meters (65 feet). Norton can track children.

Bitdefender parental controls are the most robust parental control applications. Bitdefender’s parental program is a great choice if you want to keep your kids safe online as well as offline.

Protection for your Microphone & Webcam Security

Bitdefender protects your microphone and webcam from hackers listening in to private conversations and watching what you see.

Bitdefender reviewed all apps that tried to gain access to my webcam and microphone. When an attempt to gain entry was made, it displayed a notification. I was able decide whether to grant access.

I like the freedom to customize access to microphone and webcam. Also, I was able to block any attempt by my web browser at accessing my microphone or webcam. These functions could not have been accessed by other apps.

My only concern was that the microphone protections and webcam protections are only compatible with Windows devices.

Overall Bitdefender’s webcam/microphone protections are outstanding. It is easy to set them up and customize them. To see which apps tried to access your computer, you will need to log in

Ransomware Recovery

Bitdefender’s Ransomware Remediation is able to automatically protect your data whenever it detects ransomware. It will allow you to recover files that were encrypted due to ransomware.

Ransomware Treatment was not effective in all cases.

To see a list with files that had been supposedly restored, I clicked on “Restored Files” button. It contained video clips and photos. I was able access to almost all of the files restored, with no errors.

Although a few files are missing, this feature is extremely helpful considering how many antiviruses do not offer it.
