The PC tune-up feature is a fantastic tool that can free gigabytes of storage and improve your computer’s performance.

Parental Controls

BullGuard There is a wide range of parental controls available, but very few are effective.

BullGuard offers four main protection features for desktop users.

• Filters. Removes online content from certain sites and blocks them.
• Access. Limits your device usage to a certain time of the day or weeks
• Application. Block certain apps by locking them behind a passcode.
• Privacy. Protects keywords and data from being sent to or entered into browsers.

BullGuard blocks numerous websites that allow you to download porn or pirated content. BullGuard blocked nearly all pornographic sites. BullGuard didn’t block all pornographic sites in Google Images.

Access allows you limit internet access or device usage. I would prefer the ability to set time limits on specific applications. Norton 360’s parental controls provide this option.

Privacy settings prevent children from entering creditcard numbers online. Although it didn’t work the way I expected, it did allow me to input my credit card information into Amazon.com.

BullGuard has parental controls available for Android users. These can also be accessed through BullGuard’s website.

• Send an SMS to your cell phone to start an antivirus scan.
• Tracking your phone’s position is possible.
• You have the ability to send commands to your cell phone to locate it, backup it or make an alarm.
• You have the ability to view photos and monitor installed apps on your child’s smartphone.

In my experience, parental controls on mobile are lacking. I was able to see the photos of my children and check out their apps. Bitdefender is another parental control for mobile. It blocks certain apps but does not remove them.

BullGuard offers basic parental control that doesn’t require too many restrictions.

Secure Browser

BullGuard secure web browser checks for security certificates on the websites you visit. Secure browser checks for trusted domains.

The secure browser stopped me from visiting known phishing sites, as well as websites known to host malicious scripts. It loads faster than Chrome. Check out our list to find a safer browser than BullGuard.

BullGuard’s secure Webbrowser is good for security, but not recommended for daily use.

Identity Protection

BullGuard ID protection scans the darkweb and credit bureaus for personal identifying information. This is superior to Norton and TotalAV that offer ID theft protection for US only.

Dark Web monitoring services are limited in their ability to check email addresses against the haveibeenpwned.com public database of breached data. Experian, a global credit company, is BullGuard’s identity steal tool.

Premium Protection does NOT come with BullGuard ID Protection. However, it’s a very attractive value. Experian IdentityWorks has a higher cost than BullGuard Premium but doesn’t provide any of BullGuard Security features.

BullGuard VPN (Separate Purchase).

BullGuard VPN secures your data and speeds things up. It works with Netflix and other streaming platforms. It is not yet available for purchase. This includes AES encryption up to 256 bits and a no logs policy. You can also use the kill switch to disconnect your internet connection when your VPN connection drops.

BullGuard VPN offers 16 countries servers. This is not unusual: standalone VPNs like Norton Secure VPN or ExpressVPN are available in 90+ countries.

BullGuard VPN is very fast. It allows you to access the internet and stream videos from local servers. There was no noticeable slowdown or lags when I connected to distant servers. This is normal. I was also able see video with some buffering.

As you can see from the pictures above, my internet speed did not change when I connected to a remote server in Australia. However browsing and streaming was significantly slower. Pages and videos took between 15 to 20 seconds to load.

BullGuard makes access to streaming services, including Netflix and other popular sites in Canada, easy. BullGuard’s speed made it possible to stream HD TV shows, movies and other content in HD without any interruptions.

BullGuard VPN comes separately from BullGuard Antivirus Packages at a comparable cost to standalone VPN competitors.

BullGuard VPN ranks as one of my top VPNs for antivirus. It is difficult for me to recommend it, as there are other standalone VPNs that have more servers, more features, and a better price.

Additional Features

BullGuard includes a few more features, including

• A vulnerability scanner. This scans your computer for Windows Updates that are pending.
• Cloud backup. It allows you to store documents, photos, music, and other files on Google Drive. DropBox. OneDrive.

BullGuard’s vulnerability scanner proves to be extremely useful. Unpatched weaknesses are a major vector of malware infiltration. Therefore, it is a good idea to add another layer of protection to your software.

But, cloud backup tools require subscribers to be used. BullGuard does have this option. Each cloud backup service comes with its own user-friendly apps.

BullGuard Easy to Use and Setup

BullGuard offers a less appealing user interface. This is because it squeezes too many functions into one space and hides the important settings behind multiple dropdown menus

Scheduling scans can, for instance, be much more complex than it needs to be.

Then, I had to go to Advanced Tab and click Manage Profiles.

I was then brought to another window, where I could personalize and schedule scans.

As you can clearly see, the interface to BullGuard isn’t intuitive. Especially when Norton and Kaspersky offer much more intuitive software.

BullGuard installation can be done in just a few clicks. Once you create an account, the software automatically updates your database with virus definitions. This allows you to immediately begin a scan.

BullGuard Mobile App

BullGuard Android Security premium comes with an excellent Android security software. Premium protection also includes Internet Security.

iOS does not currently have an application. However, there are top internet security applications for iOS.

BullGuard has many features in its Android app.

• Mobile malware scanner.
• Protect your phone from theft.
• Parental controls. This includes content blocking and location tracking. Call monitoring is also possible. It is also possible to monitor your phone via photo.
• Cloud backup. Backs up messages, calendars and contacts to an encryption Server.

This was the Android app I tested using my Huawei Lite P30 Lite. The Android app is easy to use and has many great features.

The mobile app offers excellent anti-theft functionality and links to BullGuard Online Dashboard, BullGuard Security Manager.

I gave permission to the anti theft tools locate and wipe me device.

BullGuard found me on my phone and located my exact address. It was amazing!

However, the web application didn’t let me lock my device. Bitdefender and other security companies can remotely lock your older devices.

BullGuard’s app for mobile is great. Both the theft protections, as well as antivirus scanning were outstanding. BullGuard was active and my Android was responsive and quick.

BullGuard has many customer support options.

BullGuard’s live chat is excellent. It is available in English as well Dutch, Danish and French. The speed of the connection is amazing.

I spoke with the livechat agent and tested email support. This support is only available in the Chinese language + Chinese. BullGuard’s email support does not seem to have any merit.

BullGuard offers a prioritized assistance service that is especially useful for new users. The team can also remotely set up BullGuard Android or Windows to protect your devices.

I called to set up an appointment. Within an hour, live support was available. This detected the test files that I had hidden inside my system. It is worth paying an additional fee if you are not comfortable using antivirus software. Premium support is available for 3 months.

You can also use forums to ask basic questions and get assistance. However, an official customer representative responded within an hour.

Overall, BullGuard customer support is excellent.

BullGuard: One of the Top Antiviruses for 2022

BullGuard includes a powerful antimalware scanning system and the best gaming mode.

BullGuard’s sophisticated machine-learning software, and large malware database, caught 100% of malware during my testing. I also tested BullGuard’s game booster feature. It actually increased my framerate during play.

BullGuard comes with many other premium features. These include a firewall and network monitor that provide unparalleled protection against back-door attacks and network intrusions. Identity theft protections give users the most recent information on credit modification for the US, Canada, and many European nations.

BullGuard has an excellent Android app. It provides a virus scan, decent parental control and offers some of the best anti-theft software available.

BullGuard Mac’s antivirus has some aspects that I don’t like. The app is not available for iOS and can be confusing to use.

BullGuard security is great for Windows and Android users. BullGuard is also my top choice as a gaming security software.

Maybe. BullGuard runs on macOS and scans for viruses.
