Intego (for Mac users) 2022 — Best Mac-only antivirus for families.

It can be difficult to find an effective Mac antivirus. I tested every macOS one and am certain that:

Intego: My favourite internet security tool for Macs in the year 2022.

Intego was able to detect all Mac-specific malicious programs and remove them from my computer.

Intego provides a Premium Bundle X9 which includes Intego’s Anti-Virus scanner, firewall and web security as well as data back up.

Intego Security Options

VirusBarrier — Malware scanning

VirusBarrier – Intego’s antivirus scanner.

It contains all the important tools for virus protection, including an antivirus scanner, real time protection engine, and scan scheduling.

VirusBarrier can scan your entire Mac, as well as any connected drives. Users will need to connect their email accounts to .

I started my tests with a Quick Scanning. It only took about two minutes. It scanned over 200 000 files.

After downloading some Mac malware samples for testing, I ran another Full Scan. VirusBarrier detected every threat on the device.

Intego made it possible for me to respond quickly to any threat. Three options were offered to me:

• Trust — Declares dangers as safe.
• Quarantine — Holds dangerous files in a secure vault.
• – Cleans infected viruses

After each scan had been completed, I clicked Repair. Unfortunately, 6 of the potentially harmful files in the Logs section had been marked as “Repair Failed”. This is not a significant issue since all files are protected by quarantine.

VirusBarrier has a Safe Browsing On service that verifies if a user’s anti-phishing tool is being used. VirusBarrier offers an Email Viral Scan option. It is a compromise of the insufficient web protection tools.

Overall, VirusBarrier is a great choice because of its large selection of scan options.

NetBarrier — Mac Firewall

NetBarrier – Intego’s advanced firewall provides additional options that aren’t available through the Mac’s built in firewall.

NetBarrier determines which network is connected to your MacBook and adjusts firewall security settings accordingly.

NetBarrier alerts users of background programs and programs trying to establish internet connections. This allows users to choose whether to allow or deny connections.

NetBarrier Tab shows a list of programs that are trying to connect with the internet.

Intego did great work. NetBarrier Firewall is an excellent firewall.

ContentBarrier — Parental Controls

ContentBarrier, a parental protection tool from Intego, blocks dangerous websites. It also captures screenshots of inappropriate websites.

View your children’s online activity in their chat room. Let your child know before they allow your child to access blocked websites.

If you wish to receive email reports, which include reports on the Mac use of your child including site visits, emails sent and received, chat history and chat history, you can also opt for regular email reports.

Anti-Predator monitoring, which is my favorite feature in ContentBarrier, is what I love about it. ContentBarrier’s Anti-Predator monitoring alerts users when it detects potentially dangerous words or phrases being used in chat rooms and messaging apps.

ContentBarrier may sometimes be hard to set up.

ContentBarrier is a more powerful parental system than the default Mac one. It offers many more options than the default Mac parental program. Parents are sure to love the multiple reporting options and the regular activity reports.

Washing Machine is a combination of a variety of system organization tools and a Mac cleaning device into one.

Integos Washing Machine may not offer Mac speedups like Avira Speedup Mac, however I really appreciate what Intego does.

This software can be loaded with 3 options:

• Reclaim
• Duplicates
• Organize

Reclaim

To find junk files, I ran a scan across my entire device.

The scan took less than 5 minutes. These included logs caches. Downloads, downloads. Trash.

It was easy to choose the files you wanted to remove from your Mac and then click to Clean.

Duplicates It sometimes found 6 identical files.

I needed to clear some space on my hard drive so I was able delete duplicate files. Unique feature: You can view duplicate files before you delete.

This tool organizes your apps and files. Smart Folders refer to folders that appear in the Mac’s left side menu bar.

Intego’s Washing Machine’s Organise feature was my favorite. I was able drag and drop files into specific folders or into the trash bin.

I was already extremely organized, so it was not necessary to rearrange.

Washing Machines offer a range of wonderful features. Intego is able to speed up the system but most Mac users are happy with Washing Machine.

Personal Backup — Customizable Backups

Personal Backup can be used as a backup for important files.

My personal backup allowed me the ability to save certain files to an external hard drive.

Personal Backup has the unique ability to schedule multiple back-ups.

Individual Backup offers additional options.

Bootable Backup

Backup your entire Mac OS X system with the current Mac OS X Version .

The Sync feature allows multiple devices and computers to sync files.

The restore function does precisely what its name implies. It restores backups to external drives.

Personally I believe that Personal Backup is superior to Apple Time Machine.
