Norton 360 — Best Antivirus With Keylogger Protection in 2022

Nortonremains my favorite antivirus program for 2022. It has a powerful antimalware engine and a variety of internet security tools. It is simple to use and provides excellent customer support. All this for a lower price than other antivirus products.

Norton’s antimalware engine uses machine learning and advanced algorithms. It also has a constantly updated malware directory. It can detect trojans and viruses, ransomware, cryptojackers, and other types of malware. Norton’s full scanner, real time security and malware detection were capable of detecting all malware files that I tried to download during my testing. The system was very responsive and ran without any downtime.

Norton is a good antivirus, but it’s not perfect. To ensure total security on your mobile device, you will need to install four additional apps. Norton’s VPN lets you protect your web access from multiple servers across the globe. The VPN will not work with streaming media such as Netflix and Hulu. The VPN is slower and doesn’t allow torrenting.

Norton 360 is not perfect, but I still love it. The number of features offered by each package was amazing to me. Many of their antimalware scanners have more features than the Norton 360. However, almost all of Norton 360 security tools are worth purchasing by themselves. Norton 360 offers a 60-day money-back guarantee. You have plenty of time and space to test it out and decide if it’s right for you.

Norton provides a variety of security tools and features to help with cybersecurity protection.

Antiphishing protection, firewall protection and protection against webcams are all included in the cheapest plan. This plan includes a password manager and 10GB cloud storage.

Norton Security Features

Anti-Malware Engine

Norton uses machine-learning and a comprehensive list of malware to detect malware. It protects you from malware on iOS, Android Windows and Windows.

I downloaded nearly 1,000 files of malware to test it. It also contained trojans. trojans. backdoors. keyloggers. rootkits. zero day attacks. ransomware. spyware. Cryptojackers. PUPs.

Norton detected 100% of the malware files on my computer using a system scan. Norton is the only competitor that has such a high rate for malware detection (like Advira and Bitdefender).

After running Norton’s full scanner, I was able turn on my real time security and try to download the 997 malware files. Norton blocked all plain files that my computer could not download before I was able to use it. Norton also blocked any zip files or encrypted malware files that I attempted to extract.

On my personal computer, Norton’s disk scan took approximately 40 minutes. This is comparable to top-ranked competitors.

Norton makes it simple to schedule your virus scans. Norton ran a complete scan of my computer at 3:30 a.m. I can choose to schedule weekly or monthly scans.

Norton will detect whether your apps are running in full-screen mode. Norton will not notify or initiate scans (including scheduled ones) for you. This is a great feature. Gamers will love the ability to suspend notifications automatically when you’re in fullscreen mode. Norton antivirus is a great choice for gamers.

Overall, Norton’s antivirus scanner works well. It detected all of my malware and stopped any attempts to download it. Norton offers multiple scanning options, which I found very useful. It also offers a quick personal scan. Schedule scans was easy.

Smart Firewall

Norton’s Smart Firewall is far more powerful than Windows’s built-in firewalls. In fact, Norton was able to detect all network intrusions during my exploit testing.

Advanced users have the ability to personalize Norton’s firewall. Norton firewall blocks many Windows services like File and Printer Sharing and Network Discovery. It also blocks remote desktop connections and File and Printer sharing. You can still access the Permissionswindow in its entirety to enable these options.

Norton has created a list of 136 rare protocols. These protocols are used to transmit malware on networks with other devices. Norton has compiled a list of 136 rare protocols.

Norton’s Smart Firewall product is excellent. It detected all network intrusions during my testing, and offers advanced users an amazing array of customization options.

Safe Web & Safe Search

Norton’s Safe Web Extension for Chrome Firefox Safari Safari Edge has been released. It provides community reviews and protection from phishing websites.

With the Safe Web browser extension, it offers great protection against phishing attacks. It found all the phishing websites I tested, even those that Chrome, McAfee or other top-ranked browser extensions failed to find.

Safe Web’s Isolation Mode protects financial information. Safe Web allows users to set their browser to isolate mode. This will prevent all browser-based intrusions. To prevent malicious web scripts stealing your data, this will make your browser window “read only”. Hackers could remotely take your screen and steal financial information. Safe Web means hackers can’t use Isolation Mode.

Safe Web offered to isolate the browser. The browser wasn’t connected to the rest the system when I accepted the request.

Norton’s Safe Search Tool is a secure search engine which offers color-coded assessments on search results. Orange is potentially dangerous and red is considered to be unsafe, while green is safe. Safe Search does not do a good job. It claimed that many pirate websites were safe during my testing. Many sites were also sent grey notifications by the program, which was actually quite safe.

Norton’s Safe Search isn’t my favorite. It does not correctly identify unsafe websites as safe, and vice versa. Norton Safe Search is not my favourite.

Dark Web Monitoring (Select countries only)

Norton’s dark Web Monitoring scans credit reports, dark forums, and breach databases to notify users if any of their data has been stolen. LifeLock offers strong identity protection for US customers.

Norton’s dark net monitoring scans look for a wide range of personally identifiable information.

• Bank account numbers.
• Credit cards
• Addresses.
• Information concerning driver’s license
• Insurance numbers

Norton has a superior data breach monitoring program than most. Norton has live agents who are paid to have access to dark web forums. This makes it possible. Norton dark net assistants are able to locate information that companies can’t. If your data is made public on the darknet you will be able to get advice and feedback. This is a better approach than Kaspersky’s database-based breach monitors.

Dark internet monitoring is activated whenever you submit information. Norton’s dark Internet Monitoring team will send you an email with instructions on how to protect yourself and your accounts.

Norton offers a great dark web monitoring service. US users can access Norton’s LifeLock identity protection services.

Identity Theft Protection (US Only).

Norton’s LifeLock identity security products have many features, including

• Credit freeze
• Title and court record of the residence, ID monitoring and ID monitoring.

LifeLock identity theft protection offers excellent protection. LifeLock will notify any person with your personal information whether it’s a loan, purchase or investment application. LifeLock receives data from Equifax and TransUnion. LifeLock will notify anyone trying to use your data.

LifeLock is available only to US users. BullGuard, TotalAV, and BullGuard provide credit surveillance in Europe, Canada, and the USA for less than LifeLock. However, they do not offer the same protections.

Norton’s LifeLock plans provide the best protection for you identity, financial investments and personal identifying information. These plans are not available to US customers.

Secure VPN (Virtual Private Network).

VPNs can hide your IP address behind thousands of servers around the world. It encrypts your web activity to protect privacy.

Norton Secure VPN gives users access to many servers around the world using Norton’s Secure VPN. Norton Secure VPN allows you to connect to servers in Australia (Japan), Singapore, and other lesser-known countries using Norton’s SecureVPN.

Norton VPN provides many security features.

• Strong encryption (256 bits AES).
• No-logs policy.
• Use to disable
• Blocking ad trackers
• Unlimited browsing data (even with the most expensive plans).

The VPN connection speeds of Norton are excellent. However, they can slow down your VPN connection.

This is my internet connection via my local network. It doesn’t use a VPN.

The speed tests were then run using Norton VPN. It is connected at a US Server.

My download speed decreased quite a bit, but my “pinging” went up a lot. If you’re streaming or gaming, the pinging won’t be an issue. Norton’s VPN enabled me to stream HD video and surf the internet without any noticeable slowdown.

I had equal download and upload speeds, but my upload speed was only half of what it was when I connected via Dutch servers.

Netflix US customers have some bad news. Norton’s VPN could not allow me to access Netflix US content. Netflix uses its own anti-VPN firewalls. Many VPNs, such as CryptoGhost VPN or ExpressVPN, allow for easy access to streaming services. Here are the best VPNs for Netflix access.

Norton VPN doesn’t allow torrenting. After I opened any torrent client, the VPN stopped working.

Norton Secure VPN is slower than some of its competitors and doesn’t allow torrenting. It also isn’t compatible to Netflix or other streaming platforms such as ExpressVPN, standalone VPNs and Netflix. Norton Secure VPN continues to be a top-rated antivirus that offers a VPN.

Cloud Backup

The cloud backup system by Norton is excellent. This option is not available to PC users.

• Backups are a must.
• Save specific files.
• Save backup files to your local drive, then delete them.
• Backup your data to local disks and the cloud.

Cloud Backup works well. Cloud Backup automatically selects 50GB of your most important files. Advanced users can go to the “What” section and choose which folders they want to back up.

Although Norton’s Cloud Backup may not be the most innovative, it is a great way for you to protect your cloud data. Depending on your Norton plan, you can store up to 10500GB.

Password Manager

Norton’s password manager is very effective. Although many antiviruses offer basic password storage, it is not enough to make Norton’s password manager stand out.

Despite the fact that it doesn’t have as many functions as standalone apps 1Password/Dashlane or other apps, it’s easy to use and secure.

Here is a list of Norton’s password managers:

• Secure 256-bit AES encryption
• Unlimited password storage.
• Synchronization PCs, Macs Androids, iOS devices, and Macs.
• Chrome extensions are available for Firefox Edge Safari, Chrome and Chrome.
• Auto-save or auto-fill
• Password generator.
• Password vault auditing.

Norton allowed me to import password vaults using Chrome, Firefox, and Dashlane. I had to create my master password.

After I imported my LastPass passwords, I navigated to PayPal. I was presented by Norton with a small icon. I clicked the icon, entered my password and email, and then hit the Enter key.

Norton’s vault auditing tools make it more secure than other antivirus services. This handy chart will help you determine which passwords are safe, how easy they are and how long they have been used. Automatic generation of new passwords can be done with the vault auditing tool’s “Autochange” function. Norton’s Autochange is not compatible with all websites. Dashlane offers a better option for auto-change. It works with approximately 100 more sites that Norton’s.

Norton’s Password Manager offers a mobile login option. This allows users to log in to their vaults using their mobile devices instead of their master password.

Norton’s password management software may not be perfect. Norton cannot provide account recovery or emergency access. This was my first issue. If your master password is forgotten, you will not be able to access any password vaults. Norton will not allow you to delete the vault or create another one. Norton allows you to add a password hint for the master password. It’s difficult to make a hint that works for a string of random numbers or letters. This is what a master password should look like.

While some users may appreciate the lack of account recovery tools, it leaves your vault vulnerable to con artists. However, I believe most users would prefer email account Recovery and other emergency contact options such as LastPass.

Norton’s password manager is not as powerful as standalone antiviruses. However, it offers multi-device backups and a secure generator. It offers password autofill and password saving, vault auditing as well as password autofill. Norton’s password management program was ranked as the #1 antivirus program for 2022.

Parental Controls (Safe Familie)

Norton offers parental controls for Android iOS Windows and Windows. (Not available for Mac)

Norton offers parental control that allows parents to:

• Filter inappropriate content with accuracy.
• Hulu and YouTube videos.
• Track location for mobile devices.
• Block Android apps
• All devices have the ability to set time limits and plans for their usage
• Set emergency contacts.

To determine if a parental control program is suitable for my child, I tried several. Many parental control programs claim they have many features. I tried many to determine if any of them were suitable for my child.

However, Norton was able block numerous websites correctly during my tests. Norton blocked 47 websites of different types, including Cult and Hate Speech.

Norton Safe Family also offers a “School Time” mode. This mode allows children to access only those websites and apps that are essential for their education.

Safe Family also captured all YouTube videos, Hulu programs and searches I made with my iPhone and Chromebook.

To view your location monitoring, app blocking, and usage scheduling tools, you can log into Norton’s online dashboard. Amazingly, Norton was able to pinpoint my iPhone’s exact location at 65 feet.

Norton’s GPS tracker does not have geo-fencing alarms so parents won’t be notified if their children move outside of a designated area. Bitdefender and Bitdefender include geofencing as part of their parental control. Parents will not be notified if their children leave a restricted area.

Norton Safe Family’s content filtering and app blocking, usage and location limitations, location tracking, and YouTube monitoring capabilities are all impressive. This is the best parental control software available.

Privacy Monitor

Norton Privacy Watch protects your personal identifying information (PII) from being sold to brokers.

Data brokers gather metadata from thousands to thousands of websites to create an identification profile. This may include your birth date and gender, as well as family names, favourite brands, and last address. Data brokers then sell this information to make a profit.

Privacy laws prohibit data brokers from selling or collecting personal information. Norton requests approximately 25 data brokers not to collect your personal information.

Access Norton’s Privacy Monitor is available through the my.norton website dashboard. Privacy Monitor displays a list of your names and the dates that you were born. You have two options: ask to delete the information or subscribe to Norton Privacy Monitor assistant so that Norton employees can handle your data brokers.
